In this task students created a STILL LIFE  artwork of a pot of cacti. They looked at different cacti and their various shapes and sizes. Some are even shaped like snakes or starfish. A cactus plant can be very small or very big. The largest type of cacti can grow to be 66 feet tall and weigh up to 4800 pounds.

We studied why spines grow on cacti, climates best suited for these plants. We cut a piece of aloe vera and students felt the gel on their fingers, we discussed  the health benefits of this plant. Students practised observational drawing, pattern making and blending colours.
